Logistics Coordinator
5-6 days per week & on call as required
Ability to work outside of standard working hours when required a MUST!

Qualifications
-English: Excellent written and verbal
-Successful completion of secondary school
-Strong background in the fresh produce business
-Knowledge of company safety rules and regulations
Duties/Responsibilities
#1 Coordinate transportation
-Coordinate the import of fresh produce commodities.
-Ensure on time deliveries and related expenses on budget
-Coordinate all shipment arrangements with US/Canadian Vendors
-Ensure all government regulations and documents pertaining to off-shore sourcing are understood and utilized.
-Monitor documents received by Customs Brokers, to avoid delays on clearance/crossing process.
#2 Analysis
-Analyze and propose transportation routes for ocean/air considering intermodal/cross-docking alternatives when available and acceptable.
-Recognize and analyze potential transportation problems and determine solutions.
#3 Communication
-Negotiate with carriers to obtain the best possible rate and service.
-Provide accurate information and transportation solutions ensuring quality and savings.
-Set up delivery appointments with warehouse and dispatch trucks for deliveries/pick-ups.
-Track, monitor, report, register and communicate all transport status and movement.
-Verify with Food Agencies if planned commodities are allowed into Canada/US in case of restrictions and present alternatives, either different routes or origins.
#4 Quality Assurance
-Communicate all damage issues to vendors/buyers and initiate the claims.
-Meet expected delivery standards
#5 Record keeping
-Prepare required reports (financial/projection/inventory)

-Collaborate in special production promotion programs
