Corporate Securities Law Clerk required for in house legal department, downtown Toronto. Responsibilities include researching material as requested from a wide range of sources; organize and analyze information, prepare summaries and analysis including analytical tools such as flowcharts, summarize financial transactions, and timelines; project manage files and keep primary up to date on progress of file and work load; ensure document control; compile disclosure documents, prepare hearing briefs, and briefs and materials to be relied upon during interviews and/or examinations; prepare legal documents such as affidavits of services and s.11 summonses; act as an offences officer; coordinate and conduct subject and witness interviews; summarize transcripts and prepare note summaries from interviews and/or examination. Should have minimum 3 years of related experience and proficiency with NRD, SEDAR, Cyberbahn. Must have knowledge of administrative and criminal justice systems, securities legislation, securities industry, and the role of market participants; knowledge of investigative techniques and procedures. Experience in assisting with the execution of search warrants at third party locations and working in a law enforcement setting an asset. Successful candidate must have highly developed analytical, research, and investigative skills; strong attention to accuracy and detail; excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and persuasively.
